I am still recovering from the Mount Olympus climb, but not in the way you would think. My legs, joints, muscles feel great after 4 days of rest. In fact, I felt physically great 2 days after the climb. The thing that is holding me back is a large scrape on my butt I received while glissading into a shaded (icy) patch. The glissade was completely intentional and the resulting scrape is entirely my fault – what an idiot move! This large open wound bled and oozed for a couple days and now it has finally dried up allowing for skin to rebuild. I can’t believe it didn’t hinder me at all on the 20 miles I had to cover after it happened! Maybe today will be the day I will be able to actually sit on my ass. Anyway, I’m ready to run or hit the mountains again so I’m going to try to get out in the next couple days.
