This past weekend I did two day climbs in the high Sierra near Tioga Pass in Yosemite National Park. Both were really sweet. Check out the trip reports on CascadeClimbers.com:
Mount Lyell/Mount Maclure (Saturday): I did this 30 mile trip in 9 hours, 55 minutes (I was hoping to break 10 hours). Mount Lyell is the highest point in Yosemite National Park and Lyell Glacier is the largest glacier in the park and second largest in the high Sierra.
Mount Conness/North Peak (Sunday): We drove to Saddlebag Lake after Lyell/Maclure where we car camped. The Northwest Ridge of North Peak was really fun with some great rock scrambling on 3rd and 4th class rock and the Lyell Glacier was equally fun with steep snow and a bergschrund problem. The Conness/North Peak double took 6 hours and 45 minutes.
