While apples have a relatively small amount of Vitamin C compared to other fruits (particular citrus), they are packed with disease-fighting antioxidants in the form of flavanoids. Antioxidants are critical in fighting cancer and studies have found that additional compounds in apples can also reduce growth and reproduction of lung an colon cancer cells. On top of all of this, apples are very tasty and fill you up. I usually eat at least two apples a day and I hope that will give me some bonus points in keeping the doctor away 🙂 !
